Art competitions run every year 5 schools in the Himalayan area are
We arrange the competition by visiting the area in October/November and taking the materials to each school. The drawings are collected between March and April and sent to the UK to be judged by a professional artist Barbara Freeman.  Barbara has been so meticulous with the judging and we thank her being available to us.  I share with you her words after judging their work in 2010.  It is through art that we find our emotional and spiritual response to our lives, our dreams our past and our future and the place in which we live. The children have responded to this in many different ways.

We run this competition to introduce expression into this area, to show children that drawing can expand their talents.  We hope to give them encouragement we have seen so many wonderful reflections of their lives in such remote areas.
